Good Days

On Saturday, Joe went through the temple for the first time. He went to the Columbia River Temple, where we will be married next weekend (squee!).

Isn't he handsome?

His parents were able to go with him.

And me too, of course. Like I'd miss that.

We were also joined by Joe's aunt and uncle, Craig and Marie Westbrook. My aunt and uncle were there as well, but they didn't take any pictures with us because they were working in the temple.

All in all, it was a pretty fantastic day.

Introductions

Hello, and welcome to Fast Wheels and High Heels! On today's episode, we'll be introducing our cast members. Kick back, put your feet up and get to know the people behind the magic.

This is Joe.

Joe works at Frank's Tire Factory. He is big and strong and manly.

Joe likes Pepsi, as evidenced by this photograph.

Joe grew up in the Yakima Valley.

Joe and his family did a brief stint in Alaska, which they are all still very bitter about.

Joe makes very funny faces.

Joe loves his 1995 Chevy Camaro Z28 (but not as much as he loves Betsy).

Joe thinks cheese comes in "white and yellow."

Joe likes sports - watching and playing.

Joe likes rap music. He refers to the artist Ludacris as "Luda," like they're homies. They are not.

Joe is a pretty good dancer when no one is watching, but when there are people around, he can only do the "white boy shuffle."

Joe doesn't like being the center of attention.

Joe is a really excellent kisser. (Oh, sorry, TMI)

This is Betsy.

Betsy is the mail clerk at Tree Top. When she feels insecure about her position, she tells people she "runs the mail room."

Betsy loves her job.

Betsy grew up in Colorado.

Betsy went to Washington to visit her aunt and decided to stay. Good thing, because Joe was there.

Betsy likes to read and to cook. But not at the same time.

Betsy likes good food, even though she can't eat very much of it.

Betsy is very weird. Joe knows this and loves her anyway.

Betsy went to BYU, then moved to Arizona, then back to Colorado.

Betsy likes shoes. And boots. And high heels. Really, anything you wear on your feet.

Betsy gets very involved when she watches sports, and tends to yell at players.

Betsy is pretty dang funny, if she does say so herself.

This is Kim.

Kim is Joe's sister.

Kim is awesome.

Kim lives in Nome, Alaska and writes a very funny blog about it.

Kim hates whales.

Kim will not be featured much in this blog, but she deserves a shout-out because . . .

Kim designed this totally awesome layout.

Thanks Kim!
